My name is Rahul Sharma, and I am the father of 1-year-old Shivansh Sharma from Badfara, Ambah, Morena, Madhya Pradesh.
Every parent dreams of seeing their child laugh, run, and grow into a healthy future. My wife and I had the same dreams for our little Shivansh. But today, our lives revolve around hospital corridors instead of playgrounds.
At just 1 year of age, my innocent son has been diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (B-ALL), a form of blood cancer. Since the day we received this heartbreaking diagnosis, every sunrise brings another battle, another test, another injection, and another prayer.
Shivansh is too young to understand why he has to endure painful chemotherapy, repeated blood tests, and countless hospital admissions at AIIMS, New Delhi. He only knows that he is in pain, and as his father, I feel helpless every time I see tears in his tiny eyes.
His treatment has been extremely challenging. During chemotherapy, his immunity became dangerously low, leading to severe infections and repeated hospitalizations. There were days when doctors closely monitored every fever because even a minor infection could become life-threatening.
As if this was not enough, during his treatment, Shivansh accidentally fell from his hospital bed and suffered a fracture in his right arm. Watching my little child fight blood cancer while wearing a cast on his tiny arm is a sight no parent should ever have to witness.
Despite everything, Shivansh continues to fight with incredible courage. His tiny smile reminds us not to lose hope, but the financial burden of his treatment has become overwhelming.
We have exhausted our savings, borrowed money from relatives, and done everything within our reach. Yet, the cost of chemotherapy, medicines, blood investigations, transfusions, hospital stays, and supportive care continues to grow beyond our means.
I sincerely pray that no parent ever experiences the pain of watching their child suffer like this.
Please stand with my family during this difficult journey. Your kindness and generosity can give my little Shivansh the greatest gift of all—the gift of life.
