My name is Deepak, and I am the father of a 1.6-year-old baby boy, Virat, who is battling a severe medical condition called leukocoria, commonly known as eye cancer.

Leukocoria is a rare but life-threatening disease. It manifests as a white reflection in the pupil of the eye, often noticeable in dim lighting or photographs taken with a flash. For Virat, this cruel disease has progressed rapidly, and his condition is critical. We are currently seeking treatment for him at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi.

Our family comes from Aterna in Sardhana, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. I used to work as a laborer, earning a modest income of ₹10,000 per month. However, due to the rigorous and ongoing nature of Virat’s treatment, I have had to leave my job. My wife, a homemaker, is doing her best to support us emotionally, but the burden is overwhelming. We now live in a small jhuggi near AIIMS, as it allows us to be close to the hospital for Virat’s constant care.

The journey so far has been unimaginably tough. Watching our little one suffer and fighting a disease he is too young to even understand breaks our hearts every moment. Despite our challenges, we are determined to do everything we can to save our baby’s life. The doctors have outlined a treatment plan, but the costs involved are far beyond our reach.

Virat is our only child, and his smile is the reason we keep going despite these hardships. However, as parents, it is devastating to feel helpless when our child’s life is at stake. With no stable source of income and mounting medical expenses, we find ourselves in an impossible situation.

We are reaching out with folded hands, seeking any possible help or support for Virat’s treatment. Every little contribution or act of kindness can bring us closer to giving him a chance at life—a life free from pain and suffering.
