My name is Dhanoj Kumar, and I am a daily-wage labourer from Moap Kalan, Bhojpur, Bihar. I earn around ₹10,000 a month, and whatever I earn is used to take care of my family and meet our basic needs.
I never imagined that one day I would have to ask strangers for help to save my own child.
My son, Ayush Kumar, is only 3 years old. He should be playing, laughing and growing up like any other child. But today, he is fighting a serious disease called Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma (Embryonal RMS), affecting his urinary bladder.
As a father, it is extremely painful to see my little son going through treatment at such a young age. His treatment is currently going on in the Paediatric Surgery Department at IRCH General Hospital. Every hospital visit, every test, every medicine and every part of his treatment brings another financial burden for our family.
I am a labourer. I work whenever I can find work, but my income is only around ₹10,000 per month. I have tried my best to manage everything on my own, but the cost of my son’s treatment is far beyond what I can afford.
I have only one wish — to see my son healthy again.
I want to see Ayush running around, playing with other children and living the childhood that he deserves. I don’t want financial problems to stop his treatment or take away his chance of getting better.
For me, Ayush is not just my son. He is my entire world, and I am doing everything I can to save him.
