My name is Gopi Singh, and I am a father fighting the hardest battle of my life—to save my 6-year-old son, Deepak, who is suffering from eye cancer.
We live in a very small town, where life itself is a daily struggle. I work with my hands and whatever small work I get, just enough to somehow manage food for my family. Even on good days, earning for basic bread and butter is difficult. But nothing could have prepared us for the moment when doctors told us that our little Deepak has cancer in his eye.
Deepak is only six years old. At an age when children dream, play, and laugh freely, my son is facing pain, fear, and long hospital visits. His innocent eyes, which once sparkled with curiosity, now carry suffering that no child should ever endure. Seeing him cry in pain, asking why he cannot see properly, breaks me every single day.
Doctors have told us that his condition is serious and needs urgent and continuous treatment. The process is long, emotionally exhausting, and extremely difficult for a family like ours. As parents, we are doing everything possible, but our limited means are not enough to fight such a big illness alone.
As a father, it is unbearable to feel helpless while your child is suffering. I would give anything—my comfort, my strength, my life—if it could take away my son’s pain. All I want is to see Deepak healthy again, to watch him go to school, play with friends, and live a normal childhood.
With folded hands, I reach out to you for support, prayers, and compassion. Any help, guidance, or kindness during this difficult time can give my son a chance to fight and survive. Your support can become hope for a child who still has his whole life ahead of him.
Thank you for taking the time to read my son’s story. Your understanding and kindness mean more to us than words can ever express.
